Are you a young, aspiring fashion designer in Zambia? Do you have a passion for sustainability and cultural heritage? This is your chance to showcase your creativity and vision in the Zambian Fashion Revolution Contest 2025!
Who Can Participate?
• Open to fashion designers aged 18 to 30 years
Theme: “Rooted in Heritage, Reimagined for the Future”
Participants are invited to create designs that reflect their Zambian heritage while embracing sustainability. The focus is on using:
• Upcycled materials (second-hand clothes, recycled fabrics, and other repurposed textiles).
• Local traditional materials (chitenge, bark cloth, beads, or other indigenous fabrics and embellishments).
Your designs should tell a story of identity, history, and the future of Zambian fashion!
Submission Guidelines
Participants can submit:
• Up to 3 fashion sketches OR
• Up to 3 completed garments
Submissions should highlight originality, sustainability, and cultural influence.
Prizes & Opportunities
Winners will receive:
• Mentorship and training opportunities from national and international designers for one month (September 2025)
• A feature in a Zambian Fashion Revolution showcase
• Opportunities of exposing your collection in some of the best shops in Lusaka
How to Apply
• Submit your designs along with a short description explaining the inspiration and materials used.
• Deadline for submissions: 31st of July
• Email submissions to: moveonmodazambia@gmail.com or deliver them to the Zambian-Italian Cultural Centre (4919 Lubu road, Longacres, Lusaka), to the attention of Mrs. Laura Rampazzo.
Judging Panel
A distinguished panel of fashion experts, sustainability advocates, and cultural ambassadors will evaluate the entries based on creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
