The global initiative “Youth4Climate (Y4C)”, co-led by the Government of Italy and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) was launched during the 2021 Pre-COP in Milan and aims for the active participation of the youth in negotiations and solution-finding to tackle climate change. Y4C brings together existing and new online and offline resources, tools, capacities, partnerships, networks and movements by and for youth.
Y4C has launched a “call for solutions” – which will be open until the 26th of May 2024 – inviting young people between the ages of 18 and 29 years to submit project proposals in the following five areas:
– Climate and Environmental Literacy
– Sustainable Energy
– Food and Agriculture
– Nature Assets
– Sustainable Consumption and Production
Successful applicants will be awarded:
– up to US$ 30,000 to implement or scale the proposed innovations;
– the possibility to access technical support to strengthen their capacity on
specific topics;
– the support from a mentor to develop their proposal;
– storytelling opportunities during next events of the Youth4Climate
initiative and through the Youth4Climate Platform and Website of UNDP
and its partners.
