A team formed by the Ambassador of Italy, the Ambassador of the European Union, the Ambassador of France and the head of the English Cooperation made a visit to the UNHCR centers in Zambia, on the shore of Lake Mweru in the district of Nchelenge, province of Luapula, near the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
It is at that turning point, in the border post in Pweto, that the Congolese refugees flock with an average attendance rate of 50 people a day but that in some phases it has also risen to 600 people.
The team of diplomats was welcomed to Nchelenge by the Government Commissioner responsible for the refugee problem, Mr. Abdon Mawere, the Deputy Secretary of the Interior Ministry, Willies Manjimela, the UNHCR Deputy Head in Zambia Signora Giulia Ricciarelli, and members of the district authorities.
