Applications Open for UNIDROIT International Programme for Law and Development (IPLD) Africa Plus 2025
The call for applications for the fourth edition of the Unidroit International Programme for Law and Development (IPLD) Africa Plus is now open!
Scheduled to run from 3 June to 5 July 2025, this highly anticipated programme offers participants a unique blend of online learning (first two weeks) and in-person sessions at Unidroit Headquarters in Rome, Italy (final three weeks).
What is IPLD Africa Plus?
The IPLD Africa Plus initiative, supported by the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is designed to promote the application of Unidroit’s international legal instruments. These instruments play a pivotal role in the unification of private and commercial law, with a strong emphasis on sustainable development.
Following the success of previous editions, this year’s programme aims to attract a larger group of legal and judicial professionals, including judges, public lawyers, and experienced legislative drafters from across Africa. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of Unidroit’s legal instruments, equipping them to:
- Implement international legal instruments in their jurisdictions,
- Foster international collaboration, and
- Enhance technical expertise in private and commercial law
