Organized into four departments \u2013 Music, Dance, Stagecraft, Management \u2013 the Academy offers some thirty different courses attended each year by over 1,700 students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">More information at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accademialascala.it\/en\/home-en\/\"><span class=\"s3\">Accademia Teatro alla Scala (accademialascala.it)<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>The Course<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Founded by Riccardo Muti in 1997 under the artistic direction of Leyla Gencer (and later of her successors Mirella Freni and Renato Bruson), the La Scala Academy of lyric opera provides young opera singers with a solid background in voice and music, honing their technical and interpretive skills in a two-year program to prepare them for a successful professional career.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Course for Opera Singers prepares young opera singers with a solid background in voice and music for a professional career, honing their technical and interpretive skills in a two-year program. This is possible thanks to a teaching staff of the highest caliber who is able to transmit its own experience on stage to the emerging opera singers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">An important aspect of the course since the first year it was offered, soloists are given numerous opportunities to perform on stage before an audience in Italy and abroad in an intensive program of concerts and operas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>The Scholarship<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Each student admitted to the La Scala Opera Academy will receive a monthly stipend of 900 euros, contingent upon effective attendance and limited to the months during which the course is offered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The stipend is made possible thanks to contributions from a large group of patrons, including foundations, associations, businesses, individuals, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which offers up to ten scholarships to foreign students as part of initiatives to promote cultural exchange, internationalization, Italian culture, and higher education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\"><b>For more info:<\/b><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.accademialascala.it\/en\/music\/course-for-opera-singers\"><span class=\"s3\">https:\/\/www.accademialascala.it\/en\/music\/course-for-opera-singers<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"lyric-opera-25The La Scala Academy (Accademia Teatro alla Scala) is one of the world\u2019s premiere institutions for comprehensive professional training in all artistic, technical, and managerial areas of the performing arts.
