Five hundredth anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci's death

During 2019 occurred the five hundredth anniversary of LEONARDO DA VINCI’s death and the Embassy of Italy proudly celebrated the Italian genius, the most important exponent of the Renaissance, through a series of events in Lusaka and Livingstone between 5th and 9th December. In collaboration with The National Museum of Lusaka and The National Art Gallery of Livingstone, and with the special guidance of a prominent Italian Art Historian and Curator, Professor Costantino D’Orazio, the Embassy proposed Seminars with local artists and students from different Universities in order to share knowledge, opinion about Leonardo’s Art. Participation to all events was massive, both in Lusaka and in Livingstone, showing the big interest in Leonardo’s Architecture, Engineering and Visual Art.

Prof. D’Orazio entertained also international community with an Art Talk on Leonardo’s at 37D Gallery in town and intrigued school kids with a lesson at the Italian School of Lusaka. The whole program of Leonardo’s Week highly contributed to the efforts of promoting Italian Art in Zambia.
