The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) has concluded a media partnership with RAI Italia for the promotion of the initiatives related to the XVII Week of Italian Language in the World, "L'italiano al cinema, l'italiano nel cinema", programmed from 16 to 22 October 2017.
Thanks to this partnership, RAI Italia will promote a broadcast dedicated to the Week of Italian Language in the "Community" and "Cinema Italia". Remember that Rai Italia channel is visible throughout the American continent, Australia, Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, while it is not visible in Europe and in the Mediterranean basin.
"Cinema Italia" is a broadcast dedicated to cinematic cycles and reviews selected and presented by journalist and critic Alberto Farina. The structure of each episode is built around the short presentation of a film and its subsequent projection.
From August 2 to October 25 each presentation will contain references to the Week of Italian Language. In addition, nine episodes will be dedicated to airing films whose slideshows have been filmed within the MAECI during last May.

27 Sep. "Oci Ciornie" directed by Nikita Michalkov (1987), on the anniversary of Marcello Mastroianni's birthday (28 September 1924).
Cinema Italia's airtime schedules vary by country: Zambia, Namibia and Malawi should be broadcasted at 20:30. Any changes to the programming will be announced on the website www.raitalia.it
In addition to the episodes of "Cinema Italia", RAI Italia has planned to dedicate some of the "Community" broadcasts to valorize the film competition "Come dentro uno specchio - l'Italia vista fuori dall'Italia" promoted by Società Dante Alighieri, together with MAECI and the Swiss Confederation.
From October 16 to 22, the top five shorts, selected by a special jury, will be broadcasted. Rai Italia and Radio 3 will follow the event through the broadcasts "La Lingua Batte" and "Holliwood Party.
Also available on the YouTube channel "Italiana Lingua e cultura", a documentary entitled "Italiano Parola del Mondo" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwDAy6Qr0CU), directed by Corrado Farina in 1994. The documentary tells the story of the Italian language from its birth to its affirmation as a national language during the Twentieth Century.
